Fall Activities For Your Wellness Routine

Boo, happy October!

With the start of fall comes a whole slew of fun activities, family time, tricks and of course, treats. That doesn't mean you can’t focus on your wellness at the same time though. I am a big fan of balance, so that means I am all about having a piece of Halloween candy (or two), as long as you get off your butt and move your body as well. There are so many fun things you can do this season to help yourself reach your wellness goals while having a blast doing fall activities. I’ve listed a few of my ideas below, but I would love to hear some of the ways you stay active, mentally and physically, during this festive season.

  1. Turn your leaf raking into a workout! You can get your chores done while getting in a full body workout at the same time. Blast your favorite music, get the whole family involved, and kill two birds with one stone. Raking uses many muscles and, if you are like me and want to have a little fun, you can do some squat jumps into the piles of leaves!

  2. Go pumpkin and apple picking. You can get in some serious steps walking through a pumpkin patch or an apple orchard, plus you get to bring home some treats.

  3. Hit up a corn maze with your friends or family. Extra points if it’s a haunted corn maze because then you’ll be running through instead of walking!

  4. Volunteer! Get a head start on giving season, Thanksgiving isn't the only time you can give back. You will be helping others while improving your mental health at the same time.

  5. Plant some fall veggies in your garden. Gardening can be a great workout and you can use the finished products to create some awesome fall recipes.

  6. Find a colorful fall trail for a mental health stroll. The weather is cooling down, the leaves are falling, it’s the perfect time for a mental health reset.

  7. Last but not least, just get outside! Before you know it, it’ll be cold and snowy out so take these next couple months to spend as much time as you can outside. Grab your journal and find a comfy tree to sit under, or just take a walk. You’ll feel great!
