Don’t Sell Yourself Short….Not This Year!

Bring it on and bring it on strong: that is my motto this year. I have always been the “dream big, see the big picture, go big or go home type”, but this year my mission is to do things for me and because they are fun and I truly want to do them. Sounds simple, right? We have heard it millions of times, don’t do something to make others happy, do it because it makes you feel good. When you feel great, everyone around you benefits, especially yourself. For the most part, I thought I had this lesson down - I love what I do and I feel very blessed to do what I am passionate about. But, here is the thing, as true as that is, I still feel I have to push uphill and then continue pushing and pushing. It is as if I have to prove something to the world, that I truly deserve happiness. Did I struggle enough, overcome all the obstacles, get something against all the odds? When I did get it, did I make sure I gave back to those in need? Expressed gratitude so everyone knew I didn’t take anything for granted?

Wow, that felt good, to put that out there. I hope you don’t get the wrong idea, I love helping others in many different ways, I think it makes me happier than those I give to...but I want to make sure this year, that I do it for the right reasons. I want to do it because I want to and it feels good, not because I feel guilty for having a great life. I want to give with true appreciation to all those who I share my journey and this beautiful world with. I also want to acknowledge all I have to offer to this world and feel worthy of all the blessings that come back my way, just because….

Someone asked me recently, “Do you truly believe everyone is special, and has gifts and love to share with the world?”.  The answer is 100 percent yes! I truly really do. I believe no matter who you are, where you are from, how much money you have, if you are famous or unknown, you are very, very important and a big part of many lives. I believe big and small gestures make a huge impact. Whether you held someone’s hand in a time of need or discovered a cure for some rare disease. I would not underestimate any part you play or any gift that you can give to others. What truly matters is that you feel good about what you are doing and you come from love for yourself and others.

In 2019, I not only want to stand in my true power, recognizing all the gifts I have to give to myself and the world, but I want to help others, in any way I can. I want to make it my goal to help others see all they have to offer and create confidence from within that can shine for all to see.

There will be much joy, love and fun in 2019, and whatever you do, don’t sell yourself short, this is your year to go big.
