My Gratitude List & Thanksgiving Survival Tips
Happy Turkey Day everyone. This year I am truly feeling beyond grateful. I have so many blessings I can't even count them. It seems so ironic that this year my birthday is on Thanksgiving and my book that I've been working on for over 5 years landed in my hands on Monday. I am truly grateful. I just want to stop and take in all these blessings because sometimes we rush past the good stuff and jump back to focussing on all the not so good stuff. I want to sit back and take it in and really absorb it. What a great week so far.
Now on to YOU. Let me share some of my Thanksgiving survival tips. The most important thing you can do to prepare yourself for turkey day is to say "what do I want to get out of this experience"? Forget the people, forget nosy Uncle Bill, forget wine guzzling Aunt Petunia. They're gonna do what they want. Its family, we all have it! You can't control it but you CAN think about what you really want from the day. For me...it's fun. I want to have fun, joy and a whole lot of passion. So I know when dinner comes, I want to go in with that attitude.
I also like to think about all that I am grateful for, once you start you can't stop. And then when I go to dinner, if things start getting a little crazy I take my 90 seconds, clear my head, and think again about all those things I am grateful for. Thanksgiving dinner is what you make it. Enjoy the holiday gang.
Much happy.
